Broken Polylines
A broken polyline is a polyline whose start and end points do not coincide — it's "open" rather than forming a closed polygon. Broken polylines often indicate import errors, incomplete geometry, or intentional open paths.
Highlighting
Press Ctrl+B or go to View → Highlight Broken Polylines to color-code all open polylines in the drawing.
Highlighted broken polylines appear with distinctive markers at their open endpoints, making them easy to spot even in complex layouts.
Navigation
When broken polyline highlighting is active, use the structure panel to navigate between broken polylines:
- Click Next to jump the viewer to the next broken polyline
- Click Previous to jump back
This is useful for systematically reviewing and fixing open paths before export.
Repair
Once identified, broken polylines can be fixed with the repair tools:
- Repair Open Polylines — close open polylines by connecting endpoints
- Join Polylines — join adjacent polylines that share endpoints
